"These Things I Remember" is a dance with five scenes beginning with the Spanish Inquisition of 1492, then Morocco in the 1700s, Turkey in the 1800s, Salonica in 1943 and Today. Jews under King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella had a harder and harder time maintaining their religious life. Some chose to convert but secretly kept Jewish traditions and these people were known as Conversos, others fled Spain in July of 1492 because of the official royal Expulsion decree. New Jewish communities sprung up around the Mediterranean. Photo by Warwick Green Next: "These Things I Remember, Scene 4"
